What you should do if you suspect a stroke?
If you suspect a stroke, dial 999 and ask for an ambulance.
Don’t ignore the signs, which may last only a short time.

Do this as quickly as you can because:

  • Signs and symptoms and any progression of the stroke will be assessed and monitored for 24 hours.
  • We can offer you advice and treatment to help your recovery.
  • Early intervention means that complications or deterioration can be minimised.
  • We can offer you advice about reducing the risk of further stroke.
